Taking Hold

What if the greatest truth we could grasp as we step into a new year is this: we didn't find God—He found us? This powerful message centers on the profound reality that we are chosen, not because of our abilities, achievements, or worthiness, but simply because God loves us. Drawing from Deuteronomy 7, we discover that God didn't choose Israel because they were the greatest nation, but because He loved them. The same applies to us. From Abraham to Moses, from David to Mary, from Peter to each of us sitting in our homes or churches today, God has always made the first move. We are reminded through 1 Peter 2:9 that we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation belonging to God. This isn't just theological language—it's our identity. The message challenges us to sit with a critical question: Why did God choose me? The answer is beautifully simple yet earth-shattering: because He loves you. This realization should humble us, transform us, and ultimately propel us into purpose. We're called to remember the day we received Christ, to recognize that moment as God's choice intersecting with our response. As we anticipate building something new in 2026, we must first build our understanding on this foundation: we are loved, we are chosen, and we can never mess it up.
